IF CEO’S BELIEVE THAT DIGITAL WILL IMPACT THEIR INDUSTRY, WHY AREN’T MANY ACTING ON IT?

There is an old saying that it takes 30 years for a company to become what they are. This means today’s CEOs know the digital revolution has been coming at them and their companies from afar. They have known this since before Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Instagram or any of these other changes came into our lives in any meaningful way. So a lot of things make change in different sectors of the economy and society, but this is a time when CEOs are seeing things they have not seen before.

 

So it’s hard to imagine that for all these years while digital has been coming at them from afar, CEO’s just ignored or didn’t see what will affect their own business. It seems like with the advent of social media in the 2000s where people were spending hours every day on Facebook – something should’ve changed then? But apparently nothing really did change until now as we’re faced with an impending crisis in regards to how our voting system works–a topic which would be addressed later.

CEOs know if there was one good thing about being ahead of everyone else thinking about how technology might impact your company–they can.

 

CEO’s know that digital is going to affect their business, but they’re not acting upon it. It seems like challenging the status quo and thinking about how we can evolve with technology isn’t a priority for them. But if CEO’s want to survive in this new world of AI robots and data analytics, then maybe it should be.

There are plenty of success stories out there when companies have evolved from being ahead of everyone else–just look at Apple or Netflix!

The bottom line: let go of what was because the future is coming whether you’re ready or not; now is as good a time as any to get your company prepared for all aspects of change by embracing innovation and strategic planning.

Kodak have know put forward that they’re going to be using cryptocurrency and blockchain to help their business, but I’m not sure that they’re really ready.
